Arnott Conveyors Conveyor Systems
custom built conveyors

Jar filling

Arnott were approached to provide custom built conveyors suitable for carrying a range of glass jars from a manual loading station through to the jar filling line. The line comprises special purpose machines for washing, filling, lid sealing and pasteurization linked by conveyors.

A pallet of multi-layered glass jars are transferred by hand onto the Arnott 3 lane slat conveyor, with each lane running at different speeds to induce the jars to enter the jar wash machine in single lines.

At the output of the jar washer they are transferred onto a modular belt, guided to one side for primary spice dosing and then to the other side of the belt for final dosing. Transfer across the belt for spicing is done to stop cross contamination of spices on the belt with any excess being wiped off into reclamation trays below the belt. Two Rospen dosers sit above the conveyors on a stainless steel platform with ladder access manufactured by Arnott.

Another requirement of the project was a vacuum unit designed to draw out airborne dust, this unit comprising canister, hinged lid, filters, extraction fan and all connecting ducts was also manufactured by Arnott.

Arnott designed, manufactured, installed and tested the system to the satisfaction of Engineering Manager Mr. Colin Dudley who commented "As I expected, Arnott have continued to produce first class workmanship and have the ability to develop ideas with myself on various pieces of machinery special to my factory".
